LiuGong was proud to celebrate its 60th anniversary in 2018. The company started with the arrival of 500 workers in the provincial city of Liuzhou in 1958. Today, LiuGong is a global success story with 19 product lines, 20 manufacturing facilities, over 9,500 employees, and 300+ dealers in more than 100 countries, offering customers the tough equipment they need to get any job done, anywhere. LiuGong History

Key milestones of LiuGong

1958

LiuGong Machinery Corp. (Guangxi LiuGong Machinery Co. Ltd.) was founded in Liuzhou, China. LiuGong ranks among the largest global wheel loader manufacturers.

1966

LiuGong launched first modernized wheel loader Z435.

1987

LiuGong introduced Caterpillar technology.

1993

LiuGong began trading on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange.

1995

LiuGong partnered with the German transmission components manufacturer, ZF Friedrichshafen AG, to open a joint venture in Liuzhou.

2001

LiuGong began building excavators and founded LiuGong Excavator Company in Liuzhou.

2006

Production volume of wheel loaders exceeded 100,000 units.

2011

Cummins and LiuGong announced a joint venture to produce mid-range engines.

2012

LiuGong completes the acquisition of HSW (Huta Stalowa Wola) Dressta in Poland, a premier manufacturer of bulldozers, giving LiuGong a strategic footprint and access to markets in Europe.

2015

LiuGong opened a new Global Research & Development Centre in Liuzhou. The initiative expanded LiuGong’s R&D capability and is a major milestone. With the world-class hardware in the new R&D centre, as well as the top quality technical team of about 1,000 engineers, LiuGong has entered a new era of R&D.

2017

LiuGong annouced the opening of its European Headquarters in Warsaw, Poland.

2018

LiuGong’s 60th Anniversary. LiuGong celebrates the production of its 400,000 wheel loader.

More than 400,000 wheel loaders delivered
The company is a leader in the design and production of wheel loaders. As of the first quarter of 2020, LiuGong has delivered more than 400,000 wheel loaders since beginning in 1958.
20 manufacturing facilities worldwide
LiuGong has a total of 20 manufacturing facilities worldwide. The company employs around 9,500 people, including nearly 1,000 engineers working in five world-class research and development facilities. In 2018, LiuGong invested more than $83,38 million into its R&D program.
China’s National Quality Award
LiuGong places intense emphasis on quality, which is demonstrated by a commitment to Six Sigma methodology and compliance with ISO 9000 standards. As a result, after a rigorous review, LiuGong was awarded China’s National Quality Award in 2008 and again in 2014.
Exceeds international standards
According to Off Highway Research, LiuGong is renowned for being one of very few Asian competitors producing equipment that exceeds international standards, and other domestic manufacturers often benchmark the firm’s designs and prices.
